Lucas began his studies at the Guri Project in Bauru (Brazil) in 2004 and then joined Bauru Concert Band from 2006 until 2012, where he was the section leader and teacher of the flute members. From 2012 to 2016 he pursued firstly a bachelor in a different expertise field, completing a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering at UNESP in August 2016. During this period, Lucas attended several music festivals and masterclasses, in Brazil and abroad, such as the Galway Flute Festival (Switzerland) in 4 opportunities (2012, 2015, 2016 and also 2017, after graduating from UNESP) and the Raffaele Trevisani Summer Course in Premeno, Italy (2016 and 2017). Simultaneously Lucas organized and was the artistic director of the three editions (2015, 2016, 2017) of the International Flute Course of Bauru (Brazil), where he managed to have great international artists as guest teachers, such as Elisabet Franch (ESP), James Galway (CH/IRL), Dr. Julee Kim Walker (USA), Amalia Tortajada (ESP/PT) and Katy Wherry (USA). He then moved, in 2017, to São Paulo (Brazil) where he graduated from the School of Communication and Arts of the University of São Paulo (ECA USP) with a Bachelor’s Degree in Flute Performance with Prof. Dr. Antonio Carlos Carrasqueira. In his years in Sao Paulo he was solo flute of the Sao Paulo Youth Concert Band (2018), Solo Flute of the Opera academy at the Sao Pedro Theater (2018) and Solo flute of the Sao Paulo Youth Orchestra (2019 – 2021) and also appeared as as guest with the Sao Paulo University Orchestra – OSUSP – in the seasons from 2018 to 2021, and with the Sao Pedro Theater Orchestra – ORTHESP – in the seasons of 2019 and 2020. Also when living in Sao Paulo, he was awarded with the “Cultura Artistica” National and International Scholarship (2017 – 2023), having as his musical Tutor the solo flute from OSUSP, prof. Renato Kimachi. Before moving to Europe, he developed chamber music activities in professional groups, such as the “Aura Ensemble”, the Flute Quartet “Multifonico” and the Quartet “Ziggy”, group in which he won the Second Prize in the Chamber music Competition (2021) of the State School of Music – EMESP TOM JOBIM. Lucas was also present in all major music festivals in Brazil (Campos do Jordão – 2018,2019 and 2021), SESC Pelotas (2019) and FEMUSC (2018,2020) where he had the chance to work with great conductors like Marin Alsop, Giancarlo Guerrero, Tabita Berglund, Osvaldo Ferreira,Sian Edwards, Neil Thompson, Johannes Schlaefli, Roberto Tibiriçá, Stefan Geiger, Gordon Hunt and Soloists like Arnaldo Cohen and Jean Louis Steuerman. Lucas already performed as an active student in masterclasses for prestigious musicians, such as Emmanuel Pahud, Michel Bellavance, Karl-Heinz Schultz , Kersten Mccall, Amalia Tortajada, Andrea Oliva, James Galway , Phillipe Bernold, Eyal An-Habar, Denis Bouriakov, Julien Beaudiment, Raffaele Trevisani, Vincent Cortvrint, Niccola Mazzanti, Marta Rossi, and Lior Eitan. After moving to Europe in 2021, Lucas performed with ensembles in Switzerland (Berner Sinfonieorchester, Camerata Variabile), Slovakia(Kosice Philharmonie) and Italy (Grado Flute Orchestra – conductor), and participated in music Festivals in Italy (International piccolo festival) and Czech Republic (Summer Flute Orchestral Academy). Lucas is an award-winning musician, having won the Outstanding Student prize at the Galway Flute Festival 2016 (CH) – Headjoint winner, 2. prize at the 8. and 9. Ernani de Almeida Machado Competition (BRA), 1.Prize at the Jean-Nöel Saghaard Competition (BRA) and 1. Prize at the Summer Flute Orchestral Academy 2022 (CZ). Lucas currently holds a Master’s degree in Performance from the Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK) in the flute classes of Professors Silvia Careddu (Solo flute Orchestre National de France), Philippe Racine and Johanna Schwarzl (Solo Flute Berner Sinfonieorchester) and piccolo Classes of Haika Lübcke (Solo Piccolo Tonhalle Orchester Zürich) and Pamela Stahel (Solo Piccolo Philarmonia Zürich). He currently works as a Solo Piccolo of the Paraná Symphony Orchestra (Brazil), conductor and teacher.
